I was inspired today!

I was in such a hurry to post my THRIVE event that I wrote the wrong date.  The real date is June 14th! Mark your calenders!

I just got home from teaching class at Equinox and afterwards I had a very inspiring conversation with one of my students.  She said, "I have to tell you about a transformation I have made since taking class.  5 months ago I was in business debt for over one hundred thousand dollars. Today I just paid it all off." I asked her how. She replied, "I decided to change my mind about the situation and every morning I repeated affirmations from the book Think and grow rich. I also committed to taking intenSati class 3-4 times a week.  Today I received the check that will allow me to pay off the remainder of my debt. I am now debt free!"

I was inspired and thought you might be too!

If you haven't read the book "Think and grow rich" by Napolean Hill I suggest you read it asap! There are many great affirmations in there. Pick the one that works best for you and commit! It is not a surprise that she had that result considering her commitment and determination to change her mind and THRIVE not just survive.

Good night!
Patricia

Carbs boost your metabolism so you can THRIVE not just survive!

Last week, while away on my honeymoon, I had time to read a few books and one was "Ultrametabolism" by Dr. Mark Hyman

I highly recommend you read it. I may have suggested it after hearing him speak a few weeks ago but after reading it, twice, I think it is the best book I have read so far.

These days so many people are carb phobics but the important thing that Dr. Hyman points out is that carbs are the most important part of our diet he states "carbs are our biggest source of energy but it depends on what kind of carbs"

It always comes back to the number one suggestion that everyone I have heard speak on the subject comes back to, eat your vegetables.

"Carbs are the single most important food for improving your health"

Choose your carbs wisely
Vegetables have phyto nutrients that are specifically found in plant food and the only way to get them is to eat plant foods, whole real unprocessed plant food.
They help you burn fat and age less quickly.
They are high in antioxidants, this reduces inflammation, which effects your metabolism
They make up 90% of the living foods
Vege, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, are all carbs
If your ancestors ate it you should eat it
Phyto nutrients turn on the genes that increase metabolism
Prevent disease and promote weight loss

Choose organic vegetables whenever possible. Yes it is more expensive but it does make a difference.

Eat raw salads, or lightly steamed vegetables to preserve as much of the nutrients as possible. Have fun with it. There are so many incredible fruits and vegetables to taste and explore.

Take a look at your diet and commit to increasing your "good carb" intake today.

One day at a time!
Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem!

Namaste
I just got back from my honeymoon and I am back to city life. Our week long getaway was certainly a honeymoon to remember. The resort was a perfect paradise in every way and a perfect place for us to get connected to the commitment we have made to create and live a life we love together.

While away I read two books and one which inspired the new series of the month, Carpe Diem! I read the book "Stop worrying and start living" by Dale Carnegie. It was the perfect read for me while away. I didn't even realize how much I had been worrying. I had the chance to put things in perspective. I highly recommend you read it or listen to it too.

The "take away" for me was summed up in two quotes from the book.
"My life has been full of terrible misfortunes most of which have never happened" Montaigne. The other quote is from Winston Churchill, "We can only deal with one link in the chain of destiny at a time".

I suggest you do your best to set your intentions that your life is improving everyday and keep your attention on what you can do today to enjoy and love your only real possession, today.

Current affirmation
Yes! I will seize this day!
I will act now!
Every day is a new day
My life is passing and it will not wait
I am ready to stop (worrying)
I am willing to stop
I am determined to stop
I will stop right now!
I challenge myself
to reach for something better
no worries no regrets!
Ah I feel much better
I am free now. Carpe diem!

Inspired by Mother Teresa who says: I don't not pray for success I pray for faithfulness.

Today I pray
to be an instrument of peace.
I ask for faith
and the power to believe
it is in giving
that I receive.
All the I need
is within me now.

It is with great love and respect that I welcome this day with all my heart! I pray you do too.

Namaste,
Patricia
